Captain Commando (Japanese: Hepburn: Kyaputen Komandō) is a futuristic side-scrolling game originally developed and published by Capcom as a coin-operated video game in 1991, which was later transferred to several other platforms. It was the 17th title produced for the CP System hardware of the company. The game stars the titular superhero, originally designed as a fictional spokesman used by Capcom USA in the console games of the company in the late 1980s. Captain Commando is set in the crime-ridden future of Metro City in 2026, where a superhero named Captain Commando, assisted by his three loyal Commando Companions, rises to protect the Earth and the whole world.
